Welcome to the Studio
With five years of dedicated teaching experience across prestigious institutions including the Sol Institute (Abu Ghosh), the Frère Music School (Jerusalem), the Ibda’a Conservatory (Jerusalem), and the Rosary Music School (Jerusalem) Juisteen’s mission is to cultivate comprehensive musicianship, technical excellence, and a lifelong artistic curiosity in every student.
Pedagogical Method
Juisteen’s approach to the piano is shaped by a rigorous academic foundation and mentorship under some of the most respected figures in classical pedagogy.
The Russian Piano School & Technical Tradition: Juisteen’s methodology is deeply rooted in the traditional Russian piano school, noted for its discipline, tonal beauty, and virtuosic foundation. She studied piano pedagogy and methodology under Professor Eitan Globerson at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
Upper Body, Arm, Wrist Freedom & Injury Prevention: Building upon this foundation, her work with Professor Yaron Rosenthal heavily informs how she approaches the physical relationship with the instrument. She emphasizes the cultivation of arm flexibility and the efficient use of natural arm weight. By eliminating tension and unnecessary pressure, she ensures that her students develop a powerful, expressive tone while actively preventing strain or injury.
Continuous Pedagogical Evolution: Education never stops. To continually refine her teaching, she regularly engages in advanced professional development, including the Frances Clark Piano Method course for teachers, integrating principles of the Kodály Method to develop early childhood internal hearing and rhythm.
Core Pillars of Her Teaching
Juisteen does not believe in shortcut methods that rely purely on rote imitation. Instead, she focuses on developing a complete, versatile musician from day one by focusing on three core areas:
- Conscious Technique & Ergonomics
She believes that a student should never be asked to do something they do not fully understand. Whether working with a conservative adult or a young beginner, she takes the time to explain the why behind the physics of playing.
Finger Autonomy: Building fundamental strength using tailored études, Hanon exercises, scales, arpeggios and more.
Precision Posture: Instilling proper seating, optimal hand positioning, and the intentional use of the fingertips to achieve maximum tonal clarity.
- Comprehensive Musicianship over Rote Learning
While some contemporary approaches delay reading, Juisteen prioritizes early and robust sight-reading literacy. She wants her students to be independent readers who can approach new music with confidence. They systematically tackle the full spectrum of piano mechanics, including: advanced jump accuracy and octave techniques, rapid repetitions and crystalline trills, and fluid scales and arpeggios.
- Imagination & Collaboration
Narrative-Driven Artistry: For younger students, technique is brought to life through imagination. They actively collaborate to create vivid stories behind the music, transforming abstract notes into narrative journeys that make pieces deeply relatable and engaging to practice.
Curated Repertoire: Repertoire selection is a collaborative process. Juisteen guides students toward music they love while maintaining strict academic standards. Her studio curriculum is closely aligned with the rigorous requirements of the Vicenza Conservatory of Music “Arrigo Pedrollo” program (the system under which she was trained at the Magnificat Institute), ensuring her students meet internationally recognized standards of excellence.
